BRAIN AID
THE SUBJECT
Art that explores and depicts the Human Brain, interpret this how like while
maintaining a certain level of respect.
THE INSPIRATION
Brain Aid was conceived to help raise money for the treatment of David
Montoya, David Montoya died peacefully on 22-1-12. A truly conscious, a
happy and passionate soul. His experience was fraught with complications
and difficulties stemming from his brain cancer and acquired brain injury.
It was a difficulty nobody should endure. However, Somehow we all
experiencea brain related something somewhere or through someone we
know, and in our own way, and with all the emotions, and with the trials and
tribulations related to the experience.
To all it is different, some are more closely connected to the experience
than others. In the end it comes down to our ability to share, express and
understand these day to day moments and to offer ourselves to what we
don't understand. David aspired towards sharing these in every way
possible. In trying to look at the world through a creative eye.
In respect of David's passing away and in keeping with the creative spirit
in all, Brain Aid will honor his family's wishes to continue the event.
Following an ethos of community and understanding shared by David,
Brain Aid will support creative community based initiative Community Hart
